Great South Run 2011 · 31 October 2011

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Despite serious injury requiring medical attention (3 physiotherapy sessions and more required this week), some moaning (from Emily) and if we're honest, a general lack of fitness (natural athletes, we are not) we completed the Great South Run on Sunday in a time of 1hr 58mins. We thought we'd let the Kenyans and the Ethiopians win for a change.

Why are we sending you the email after the event? Well, we thought we'd wait until we'd completed it such was our belief in our running abilities.

We were running for a charity called Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research which is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Their life-saving research focusses on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running ground-breaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients. Leukaemia and lymphoma are illnesses that have affected people we know so this is a charity that we are proud to support.

Please help us raise as much money as possible by sponsoring us a lot...or a little. We're not fussy (feel free to insert your own sarcastic comment here).

Thank you!!!!!!
