We are a LGBTQ mental health charity aiming to improve wellbeing in the community
Story
Hello!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am creating a challenge with three benefits. Charities are losing money due to the cancellation of sponsored events like the London Marathon. In reference to the 26 miles, I commit to attend 26 yoga sessions from 26th April to 2nd June (my birthday).
Firstly, I am raising money for the fabulous MindOut. They have responded flexibly and creatively to the various challenges we all face now; maintaining, adapting and expanding the service and I just want to thank and support them.
Secondly, I am supporting The Breathing Space yoga studios in Derby and their partnership with mental health charities. I'll donate to their charity fund for every five session I attend. They too swiftly adapted to the current context making online yoga available to their local clients and beyond.
Thirdly, but as importantly, I am committing to my own physical and mental wellbeing. The yoga classes I have attended myself and with my partner from home this last month have made a very big difference already. I am looking forward to telling you about my experience over this next month.
MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay men, bisexual, trans, and queer people. We provide advice & information, advocacy, a peer support group programme, wellbeing activities and events, a peer mentoring service, an out of hours online chat service and more.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
