I work at the Deaf Academy and see day in day out the inspirational achievements of students and staff alike. The Academy's commitment to British Sign Language is at the heart of the outstanding progress these Deaf young people make.

With that in mind - I have learnt the sign for "help I'm drowning" and will be plunging into the cold and unforgiving waters of the Serpentine on 16 September to raise vital funds for this deserving cause. 

To say I am up for the challenge may be an exaggeration but taking on this swim is nothing in comparison to the challenges the Academy's students overcome every week.
