Event: The Big Sleep Out, from 21 March 2019 to 22 March 2019
The Bridge is looking for volunteers to wrap up warm and brace themselves for a night out in the elements to raise awareness of homelessness and the reality of sleeping rough. They will see first hand what it might be like to homeless in winter.

Story

At the latest count, there are over 40 people sleeping rough on Leicester's streets. This number is unfortunately growing. At The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, we support those that are on the streets by providing food provisions, support, laundry cleaning, showers and food parcels. As a charity, our services cannot commence without generous donations from fundraising.

For the second year running, The Big Sleep will take place on 21 March, 2019 at the University of Leicester. Volunteers will spend the night under the stars for a taste of what street homelessness might be like, with only cardboard, a sleeping bag, flasks and the clothes on their back for warmth.

All funds raised through the sponsorship for the event will be donated to The Bridge Homelessness to Hope to help the city's homeless community.
