The London Marathon is an event that I have always loved watching- I've been a 'cheerleader' for friends and family on many occasions, and have used my physio skills at the finish line too!  Its an incredible day; totally inspiring and magical in its own way-  that's why I have always said "One day- I WILL run it". 

When I heard that I had a place to run in 2018 for Shooting Star Chase, I felt a mix of feelings: happiness, excitement and nerves, but most of all-motivated. The challenge of running 26.2 miles is tiny in comparison with the challenges that babies, children and young people, who utilise Shooting Star Chase deal with on a daily basis. 

My friend Evie- she was inspirational beyond belief. Her and her family were given amazing, care, love, support, specialist advice, tea and biscuits, and therapy during her short, challenging life. Shooting Star Chase were invaluable in providing an environment that not only made Evie comfortable, but gave her parents invaluable time for such simple things; time for a bath, time for a massage, time for a counselling session, time to reflect and digest on the daily challenges that they all faced. The commitment of the staff at Shooting Star Chase was outstanding - and I for one, am indebted to them for this. 

Time is incredibly precious- that's why I am going to get round that 26.2 miles on April 22nd- and embrace the energy from everyone around me to ensure I can help in supporting this incredible charity in providing support for those that need it in the future.
