Story

So on Sunday 15th October myself as Guernsey HOPEWalk 2017 host will be walking an almost 5 mile coastal walk in a beautiful part of Guernsey, with a group of us to raise money for PAPYRUS awareness of young suicide and start that important conversation about suicide, and talk about the thoughts and feelings people may experience which could lead to suicide. It is also help people to see there is help and hope if they do experience thoughts of suicide and somewhere that they can turn to to get help, advice and support and to not suffer in silence.

Papyrus is a very important organisation and they have and continue to give me so much help and support with my own thoughts of suicide I experience. I have battled with my mental health now for the last 13 years of my life, I have also attempted suicide on several occasions and been an inpatient in hospital as a result 5 times , battling my own thoughts of suicide is incredibly tough and still is most days but I found PAPYRUS and HopelineUK, this amazing organisation let me talk about my feelings of suicide so openly, gives me the time to talk about what I am going through that is impacting my thoughts of suicide and listens to me helps me to stay safe, helps me to see there is a way forward and that there is help and hope and is helping me still now with my continued long journey of recovery which is still incredibly tough but because of PAPYRUS I am still here and still fighting. I want other young people and adults to know that this service is there if they reach desperate times in their lives so that there feelings, thoughts and struggles do not have to end in suicide.

So please give what you can as every penny is going towards saving young lives and preventing suicide and giving help and hope to people when they've lost all hope and is also helping to raise awareness and provide training so that we can build suicide safer communities and being able to talk about suicide openly without the taboo so that people can understand and help to save lives and give hope

Thank you and best wishes
