Story

So, i'm running the 5km colour run in June. But I'm not a runner. I have a dodgy hip that doesn't like it if I walk more than 1 hour at a time. So you may be thinking that a 5km run isn't much of a challenge, but for me, it is!

But more importantly, i'm not doing this to simply take on a challenge. I'm doing it in memory of one of the most colourful people I had the pleasure of knowing, and working with. My previous Chief Executive Gilda, died only 3 years after being diagnosed with colon cancer. She was a strong, honest and passionate leader, and someone who taught me a huge amount. I will forever be grateful to her for that. She was our own little (and she was tiny) mother-hen, directing her team brilliantly and always there with a shoulder to cry on if you'd had a bad day!

Gilda was only 51 when she died. I hope that by funding more research and raising awareness of bowel cancer, we can stop other families loosing their wife, mum, daughter and friend, far too soon! Any donations you can spare, will go along way. Thank you!
