Story

We, as a family have personal experience of the immense relief that is felt when your child is able to be cared for at home, and not in hospital. To have the family together in one place is so important.  Sometimes this proves tricky, but as a mum I know first hand the fight that is needed for this to be made possible.

For this reason, I’ve decided to run the London Marathon for WellChild. This charity plays a crucial role in enabling children with complex medical needs to leave hospital and be cared for at home, reducing the practical, emotional and financial impact for families. They support families through this process, in what can seem a very lonely and scary time.  Bringing the families back together, allowing a  sense of normality to resume for the child and their family.

I’ve never run a marathon, in fact I hadn’t actually run anything for many years until I got a place in the London Marathon! ! So this is going to prove a personal challenge for me. However, my inspiration comes from the strength, courage and above all, wonderful humour I see daily from our youngest daughter, Maddie.  If she can tackle what she does on a daily basis, then so can I!

To make this even more special, I’m running along side my eldest daughter, Lottie. This is our way of giving back!

We would love it if you could donate, even a small token, to support us, while we support such a wonderful cause. .
