Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for the fantastic WWF by taking part in my first competitive half marathon run at London's Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 (2020 postponed due to Covid-19 risks!). I have been training since January 2019 and hope to develop from total couch potato to running more than I could ever fathom!

While many animals face much tougher tasks facing our planet's current problems, this is a big endeavor for me as an asthmatic who hates running!

By donating to WWF you are helping to prevent the extinction of vulnerable iconic animals and species as well as supporting places and people across the globe.

I have always had an interest in animals and nature, particularly big cats. Tigers especially have a place in my heart and are one of the many most beautiful creatures that run the risk of dissolving into nothing more than a memory. For the support that WWF give tigers and many other concerns of nature, I wish to raise a total of £500 (check out their website here https://www.wwf.org.uk/). Please help me achieve this by donating as little or as much as you wish.

Your donation could go towards:

  • Funding just £3 for a community based anti-poaching patrol protecting tigers in Nepal
  • The training of a boat crew member on smarter fishing methods to reduce their impact on marine wildlife.
  • £10 to buy 40 seedlings for forests in Tanzania
  • £100 to purchase handheld GPS equipment for mapping turtle nests
  • The funding of binoculars to help WWF patrol protected seas
  • £25 to cover the costs of a rhino ranger salary for 10 days
  • £20 to support the visit of an expert from WWF to a school in the rainforest, providing environmental education to children.

Your money will make a difference to our natural world no matter how small a donation you make and help preserve the existence of animal and plant species alike for generations to come. Help everyone live more sustainably and restore the planet's wildlife locally and across the globe.

On behalf of our wonderful world and the children of our future, thank you.
