JSBC 24 hour row · 15 March 2019
This year JSBC (John Snow Boat Club) is raising money to help Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that reaches out to a wide body of young people undergoing the devastating diagnosis of cancer.
In the Uk around 7 young people aged 13-24 are diagnosed with cancer every day and need essential expert treatment , which Teenage Cancer Fund aims to provide.
Having cancer as a teenager/ young person comes with a particular set of challenges. Teenage Cancer Trust aims to meet the needs of the young people by providing them the additional support to help face these challenges and experiences together.
Teenage Cancer Trust has particular importance to one member of our boat club, whose close friend was diagnosed with leukaemia at such a young age in his life and charities like this help those throughout such a traumatic experience.
As a club we are attempting to row for 24 hours along the Wear in Durham on the 15th-16th March and we would really appreciate any donations to support us in this crazy challenge.
This is going to be a very physically and mentally demanding challenge, however, it doesn’t compare to some of the challenges that young people with cancer have to endure everyday.
We hope that through funding charities like this and Cancer Research UK, treatment for cancer can be improved preventing families and friends from dealing with the pain of losing a loved one.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, all donations are welcome and very much appreciated.
Thanks
