Story
I very sadly lost my dad to bowel cancer over 6 years ago, although it feels like only yesterday. My friend Lucy lost her dad to prostate cancer last year, and when she mentioned some bonkers idea abut cycling from London to Psris in memory of her father, I thought it was high time I did something similar. So I have decided to join her - I haven't looked at the distance yet, but I think it's a long way! However, I have googled "saddle sore" and suffice to day, the pictures aren't really appropriate to put up on a charity website!
In the last days of Dad's life (although we didn't know they were his last days at the time) he went into the Hospice for some respite care and to give him a chance to regain his strength. The idea was also to give Mum a small rest from caring for Dad full time. Sadly Dad passed away while staying at the Hospice, but we all took comfort in the fact that he was in the best hands and was rested and peaceful when he died, so I have decided to raise money for the Arthur Rank Hospice where he died.
Any donation will be very gratefully received.
