Story
Reasons you might want to consider sponsoring me:-
I will only run a full marathon once in my life.
I am raising money for Bone Cancer Research Trust for two reasons. My brother, Daniel, lost his life to cancer at the age of 13. Had the cancer been diagnosed earlier, things may have been very different. More than 20 years on and our dear friend Ali, lost her husband of 5 days to the same cancer, at the age of 22.
We are incredibly proud to be running for BCRT, in order to help raise awareness of this particular form of cancer, which effects young people. Our hope is that by bringing this to people's attention, we will be helping in some small way to ensure that less young lives are lost to cancer in the future.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
This is a huge amount of money to raise, so I would ask that on this occasion you consider digging particulary deep in order to help me thrash my target, whilst I hide away for the next four months and train, train, train. How about £1, £2, £5 or £10 for every mile (26 miles in total - that's around 4 hours of continual running...we hope)? If I do make it across the finish line, I am certain I will never tackle this distance again - so for all the reasons given above, I am greatly appreciative in advance of your generosity.
The date: Sunday 22 April 2012 - come and cheer us on, if you are around - we will need every bit of support we can get.
Thanks
Emily
