Story
My first run was on 23rd April 2016, a very tough 2km after virtually no cardio exercise for over 20 years. Simon, my husband, supported me on that first run and encouraged me to keep at it.
Since that day I have competed in many 10k races as well as 9 half marathons, my first half being the Great North Run in 2017 where I ran for #teamorange. I always said I would never contemplate a full marathon but after joining MOJO Running and Fitness group last September my incredibly supportive coaches have given me the confidence to "go for it".
I'm running again for MDUK as it is very close to mine and my extended family's hearts after my beautiful boy Sidney was born 16 years ago with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy. He is hugely inspiring to all of us after everything he has been through and continues to go through. Life can be very hard at times but his smile and brilliant personality never fail to make us happy and smile with him.
So once again I'll be wearing the orange vest with a huge amount of pride, can hopefully raise a lot of money and most importantly get my hands on a London marathon medal!!
