We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

I completed my first half-marathon in March 2019 for Alzheimer’s Research UK. My first thought after crossing the finish line was “How on earth does anyone do that twice over?!”... so naturally I decided to run the 2020 London Marathon 😳😅

A certain pandemic then got in the way of my plans to cross the finish line in April last year, so here’s hoping I’ll finally get my chance on October 3rd 2021!

Dementia is a cause extremely close to my heart. I’ve experienced first-hand the heartbreaking impact of having a loved one affected by dementia, but I am also lucky enough to be exposed at work to the incredible research into dementia happening week upon week, funded by charities like Alzheimer’s Research UK. Dementia is currently the UK’s biggest killer, costing the UK economy £24billion each year, but over two-thirds of this cost is paid for by people with dementia and their families. Every generous donation made to Alzheimer’s Research UK makes breakthroughs possible, to stamp out dementia for good. 🧡💜
