Story
Along with her teachers and hopefully other pupils Emilia will be joining the Luton School Run!
On Friday 24th April, staff from The Meads will be joining those from over 35 other Luton Schools (virtually of course) to walk (or maybe even run) for a whole hour around their back gardens as part of the #Luton School Run in order to raise much needed funds for vulnerable people in Luton during the Corona Virus crisis. The aim is to raise £12,500 for the Luton-based charity The Level Trust, which will used to support vulnerable children, young people and families during this difficult time. The event will take place between 7am and 7pm on Friday with each school being allocated an hours slot - our slot is from 9am until 10am. If you would like to join in or make a donation yourself, please follow the link below - perhaps you could post photos of your own walk or run onto your child's Class Dojo page. Please help us to help those in most need by giving what you can. Thank you.
Nad is six and lives across two rooms in a shared house with his mum and sister and three other families he doesnt know very well (accompanying image not Nad). Its normal for him to eat just two meals a day and he only has two outfits that fit him his school uniform and his jeans and jumper. He has a few toys and a couple of books, but no craft materials. Two weeks ago, Nad was told he couldnt go back to school. To make matters worse, he has to stay at home for most of the day and he cant visit friends or extended family. For Nad, school was his life-line. It provided him with space to run around, stimulating resources to play and learn with and crucially, a free school meal that kept him full and energised for the day. What will happen to Nad now all that has gone?
