For those who don't know my name's Em and I will soon be donning my cycling helmet and lycra to join 299 other mad people to cycle 375 miles around the battlefields of France to raise money for the fantastic HELP FOR HEROES as part of  their Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2010!

I have given myself a rather ambitious fundraising target of £3000, and I am hoping to raise this through personal donations and collections as well as putting on a few events over the coming months.

I know that in the times of the recession asking people to sponsor you for a charity event will prove harder than normal so I am asking people for the small amount of £2, less than the price of one of those lovely take away coffees you love at lunchtime. Of course if you are feeing generous I wouldn’t say no. 

Help for Heroes is a fantastic charity who’s work with our brave and injured soldiers helps not only to give them the resources they need to aid their recovery physically but also gives them hope for the future and for a lot of the injured that is what is much neeeded.

And for those who want to have a bit of a giggle at my expense I will always be joining some mad friends on the ride in having a fancy dress ride day where we will be donning Morph suits (all in one complete with mask lycra suits - black in the ninja style of course lol) if that doesn't make you want to donate I don't know what will.
