Relay For Life Midleton 2016 · 17 September 2016 to 18 September 2016 ·

An overnight community event happening across Ireland and across the world.

Story

My handsome husband James was diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2015. Heartbreakingly his was one of those cancers that can not be cured. So he started his journey to try and buy some extra time and had surgery radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I guess no cancer is kind but his type certainly showed no mercy he sadly died on the 27th August 2016. We were grateful to have had time together as a couple and as a family with our 4 children. James faced his cancer with strength and dignity he never complained and spent as much time as he could enjoying the things that he liked. We are lucky  to have been surrounded by family and friends who were there every moment that was needed. When this fundraiser came up I felt I had to support it. Anyone who can be assisted  to prevent any type of cancer has my support. Even though I know it's a demanding time supporting charities I do hope this local effort makes a difference to someone's life.
