I decided that I wanted to take on a HUGE personal challenge this year (and before I turn 40!!) and attempt to run the Virgin London Marathon ..........while this may sound crazy (I think that I am!!) I am trying my absolute hardest as I wish to raise money for the amazing Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) :)

GOSH have taken tremendous care of my son Joseph since birth.  Joseph was born with a number of undiagnosed heart defects.  It wasn't until his 6 week check that our GP detected a slight murmur and referred us to see a consultant.  To my shock, at this appointment at only 10 weeks old, Joseph was rushed to GOSH to have his 1st open heart surgery operation the next day.

It was a tough 1st couple of years with weekly check ups, blood pressure monitoring etc and then his biggest operation of all at the age of 2 & 1/2 where he had another open heart surgery which took approximately 9 hours.

Joseph is the most remarkable, amazingly strong little boy who defies all usual symptoms.....you truly would never know of his defects other than the beautiful and special lines on his body.

I wish to attempt this incredibly hard task of running the Virgin London Marathon in April 2016 to raise funds for GOSH and say a HUGE thank you for continuing to care for my little man :)
