Story
We are Lee’s Spidey Army and this year we will be joining the ‘Big Fun Walk 2022’ in honour of Lee Smith. Lee loved Spider-man throughout his childhood and adult life. Enough so, to get a Spider-Man tattoo spanning his whole back! What better way to honour him and what he loved then being his spidey army.
Lee was admitted to the North London Hospice in August 2021 for pain management but unfortunately passed in October 2021. During his last 6 weeks, the hospice provided endless support, care and comfort to him and everyone around him.
The nurses and doctors worked tirelessly to meet Lee’s every request and ensure all his needs were met. To this day, the hospice continuously supports Lee’s family with regular check in’s and contact. We would like to thank the amazing staff for all their work and the work they will continue to do in the future. Despite only being at the hospice for 6 weeks, they’ve made a massive impact on our lives.
Lee’s spidey army consists of 29 members and counting! We will be walking 8.6 miles to help spread awareness and raise funds for North London Hospice.
Every pound raised helps the hospice's care teams to provide the best quality palliative and end of life care and support for patients and families living with a life limiting illness. Please consider gift aid when donating.
Your donation could help to pay for:
- £10 could pay for the cost of a nurse to visit a patient in their own home
- £50 could help the hospices Out of Hours Service to urgently care for a person at night who is living in the community.
- £125 could fund a specialist nurse for one day, ensuring they can provide compassionate end of life care on the hospice.
