Story
Hi there! Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. From the 6th of September to the 6th of October, we will be taking part in Universify Education's 'London to Cambridge Challenge' by running 60 miles!
Today's reality means that a student's socio-economic background has a huge effect on their educational journey. Factors such as ethnicity, parental income, where they live and attend school all play a part in determining a young person's chances of attending university. The pandemic has highlighted and exacerbated this ever-widening educational gap.
Universify Education is a charity dedicated to educational equality. (https://www.universifyeducation.com) The team at UE run a year-long programme for Year 10 students from non-selective state schools across the country. Through academic taster sessions, university information sessions, and one-on-one coaching, the programme aims to empower these young people to achieve their full educational potential and create more diverse university cohorts. To find out more about the brilliant results of UE's work, you can read the charity's Impact Report here:

This summer, Elsie had the rewarding experience of being Group Leader for Universify Education's summer course at St Catharine's College (via Zoom!). This was the charity's first Cambridge course. To celebrate this milestone, Elsie and Savvas (her inspiration and #1 supporter!) will be running the equivalent distance from London to Cambridge. That means our goal is 60 miles! As a pair, we'll be running that distance over the course of a month - virtually at first! Neither of us are runners, but we both love a challenge!
Your support will not only encourage us to reach that goal, but more importantly likes, shares, and donations will help the amazing work of Universify Education to continue and reach even more students.
