Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Edinburgh marathon because I wanted a challenge. Many, if not all of my friends love companion animals, our pet dogs and cats. The Yulin festival and others throughout Asia purposely torture dogs and cats (for hours in many cases) because they believe the meat will taste better if the animals are terrified. They also think it will keep them cool in the summer heat and make men more virile. It is barbaric. The internet is full of revolting images and videos of how they kill them and it's sickening. Boiled and skinned alive, limbs chopped off.... Often these poor creatures are stolen pets, still with collars and tags on.

The Humane Society are a wonderful charity that help all animals across the globe but are tackling this by offering slaughterhouses and dog/cat meat farms an alternative business whilst rehoming rescued animals, some of whom will go on to be trained as companions for ex service men suffering from PTS and to be used in the medical field to sniff out cancer in humans! 

 I would really appreciate it if you would be kind enough to spare just a couple of pounds to  reduce immense suffering.improve welfare laws in these countries and discourage pet theft. Every mile will be easier if I know i an helping to make a difference even in a small way 🐾💔 Thank you for anything you can give xx
