Story
On the 17th October I will be (Attempting to) run the Oxford Half Marathon (13 miles or 21.1 km) in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Weldmar Hospice. I am doing this is in memory of my dad, John Newman, who died on the 17th May 2021 from cancer. The race will be 5 months after he died.
This is the donation page for the Weldmar Hospice. Please feel free to donate. This is the place to put your £2 for each guess. I am collating guess on the time I will do the half-marathon. The winner will be the one who guessed the closest time, and will win a bottle of vintage champagne (can verify its been in the cellar that long)!
Funding cancer research is incredibly important to identify new drugs which can treat cancer but also to identify the many different diseases that fall under the cancer umbrella. The Weldmar Hospice was fantastic and wonderful in the last period of my dad’s life, providing nurses and equipment so he could stay at home. I know every pound matters.
