We are Northamptonshire Mind to help and support mental well-being

Story

So...we have both decided to join this fantastic cause, originally thinking that we would be dancing together, although being partnered with professionals we still dream of dancing professionally with each other and this is the first step to fulfilling our dream :-)

We are raising money for Towcester Mind, Towcester Mind offers social , practical and emotional support to individuals with significant experience of accessing mental health services, as well as those with more common mental health problems. The service works to a semi-structured framework which enables individuals to participate in a wide-range of activities to improve their mental health and well-being. A key aim of the service is to promote and facilitate social inclusion through improved access to mainstream activities and facilities. It really is a great charity and makes a huge differences to many people’s mental well-being.

Mental health is a common problem that many individuals suffer from, but rarely talk about, more than 850,000 children and young people in the UK have been diagnosed with a mental health condition and this charity helps support those, through encouraging people to actively get involved in their own mental well-being by accessing the various groups and 1-1 work.

I am 2 weeks into rehearsals and will be paired with my ‘professional’ partner this Saturday! We practice for 2 and a half hours every Saturday and as soon as we are paired up I will be practicing my Samba and Tango almost every night (Tango is a very serious dance afterall)!

The event has been going on for a few years now and is all taken very seriously, the final is on the 25th of October, which is filmed and shared throughout our local news :/ !

If you would like to purchase tickets – they sell out fast so please do so asap (we have been told they are likely to sell out in the next week)! Please email Tizzy- tiziana.j@danceschool-stepbystep.com or Becky becky.pavey@southnorthantshomes.co.uk Tickets are £15 and the final is on the 25th of October at 7pm.
