Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit Cathy’s Just Giving page.
Eight years ago Cathy was diagnosed with breast cancer just before her 40th birthday. Being the driven and brave woman she was, she overcame the cancer and went into remission. Last June the cancer returned.
Cathy undertook a most spirited and courageous fight. In this time she made a conscious decision to make the most of her life. She remained positive throughout and never let her condition stop her doing the things she wanted, in her own way, with the people she loved.
Cathy’s role as mum was central to her living and gave her the strength to continue to fight to stay with her girls. Her warmth, generosity and kindness extended past her own family and she was a brilliant friend to so many.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Peterborough City Hospital Oncology Team for their care and compassion in treating Cathy, and their patience in dealing with her frequent ‘escapes’ for cigarettes.
Cathy sadly passed away at home surrounded by her friends and family on 25th May 2015. It was Cathy's wishes to please donate to Cancer Research UK, to stop more people dying from this horrible disease. Hopefully one day the fight will be won against cancer.
