Story
Thanks for visiting this fundraising page.
My uncle, Jim, (Raymond Bond) sadly passed away at the start of 2013, having suffered from Alzheimers and leukaemia. It is impossible to choose one of these causes, so I've created this team page so that we can raise money for both the Alzheimers Society and the Leukaemia Cancer Society. If you visit the Team Page (scroll down to the bottom of this screen), you can find the other charity and donate to that instead / as well if you wish.
As you can see from the team photo (a personal favourite) Jim was always incredibly active and loved all kinds of sports. I remember going to see him at Rutland Water only to find him way out in the middle, in his canoe, with a kite powering him around. With this in mind, I thought the best way to raise money would be to do something active - a triathlon.
On Sunday 21st July 2013 I'll be swimming 400m, cycling 30km and then running (I hope) 5km to raise money for these two great causes. This really is not something I do on your average Sunday, so any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
PS If you're not sure how JustGiving works, all the important information is below.
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too (just make sure you tick the box that says "I'm a UK taxpayer"). That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
