Fundraising for Parkinson’s UK
Save the UK's Charities:
General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
PARKINSON'S UK:
Since 16 March, we’ve seen an increase in demand for our services, including a sharp rise in calls to our helpline. We’ve had to close local group activities and cancel regular exercise programmes, meaning people are no longer getting the face-to-face support they need.
Demand for our services will continue to rise in the coming months.
But, together, we can reach people in new ways. From boosting our helpline capacity to providing tailored exercise classes online, to support people in managing their symptoms whilst at home.
Help us deliver what people need, when they need it most.
£26 could go towards helping local advisers make welfare calls, reaching out to people who are isolated and vulnerable.
£260 could go towards helping us provide critical support to two families throughout the Coronavirus crisis.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
