We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

My mummy organises events for Parkinson's UK and I have taken part or volunteered at most of her events!  She can't organise these events because of the corona virus and help people with Parkinson's to get better.

I am going to do 7 challenges over the week to help raise some money.  I am going to:
- A sponsored silence for 26 minutes
- Host a 26 question quiz on Thursday at 6pm

- 26 judo throws in a row
- Cycle 26 miles over the week
- 26,000 steps over the week
- 2.6km run around the garden
- Make 26 rainbows to give out to local businesses in the community

UK charities have united and are asking supporters to set up a 2.6 challenge fundraiser from 26th April - 3rd May.

Thanks in advance for all your support. We are all trying to do our bit in the best way we can during this uncertain time.

Stay safe and take care!!

Save the UK's Charities:

General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.

PARKINSON'S UK:

Since 16 March, we’ve seen an increase in demand for our services, including a sharp rise in calls to our helpline. We’ve had to close local group activities and cancel regular exercise programmes, meaning people are no longer getting the face-to-face support they need.

Demand for our services will continue to rise in the coming months.

But, together, we can reach people in new ways. From boosting our helpline capacity to providing tailored exercise classes online, to support people in managing their symptoms whilst at home.

Help us deliver what people need, when they need it most.

£26 could go towards helping local advisers make welfare calls, reaching out to people who are isolated and vulnerable.

£260 could go towards helping us provide critical support to two families throughout the Coronavirus crisis.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
