Story
Unfortunately during 2019 my family lost our Grandad Bert after a long battle with Cancer.
He was treated frequently over the years at Castle Hill Hospital. Without their care, he may have left us a lot sooner.
During 2020, I aim to raise money for the Daisy Appeal (https://www.daisyappeal.org), a charity which aims to make services even better for patients.
To do this, my target is to run 202.0 miles or more across various races during 2020. This will equate to me running approx 32.5x10km races during 2020, or approximately 1 race every 1.6 weeks.
My plan is to do this across events spanning 5km-1/2 marathon distances. Due to timings, there may be weeks where I don’t race at all; conversely, there may be others where I race twice in a week.
As a way of tracking my progress, I will update this page, my Facebook profile and also my Strava account (which will show race stats/distances), so others can check I am not skiving races and also to see what future races I’m doing.
Any donations, no matter how small, are much appreciated.
Thanks,
Elliott
Daisy Appeal: Help make cancer, heart disease and dementia a thing of the past. Since it was established in 2000, the Daisy Appeal has raised £12.5m to fund cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. We built an £8m research centre, which opened in 2008, and in 2014 we opened the £4.5m Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre. Both are on the Castle Hill Hospital site. We now want to build a £7.2m radiochemistry and cyclotron unit so we can produce our own radioactive tracers.
