Story
I made a promise to myself that 2023 would be the year to change my life. To set myself on a new track. I thought there would be no better way to do this than compete in my first ever charity fitness event. I want to push myself to the absolute limit, prove that anything, for anybody, is possible.
To run in this event for such a beautiful charity also means the world to me. Guide Dogs is such an important charity and cause, helping so many with sight loss a problem that affects so many families and lives in the UK. It is an issue that is not talked about enough. I appreciate that times are incredibly difficult for us but even the smallest donation would mean the world. Of course if you can not I appreciate your time from the bottom of my heart and all I ask is if you can share this page with as many people as humanly possible.
I would also like to talk honestly and openly. There are two deeply personal reasons why I am also running in this event.
Firstly, for my grandfather. I lost my Grandfather, Harold, during the pandemic. I felt like part of my family was ripped away from me. With restrictions at the time I could barely be with my family during this. Even having to sit apart during the funeral service. So I run this in his honour, knowing how extraordinarily proud he would be. I know he's by my side, watching every single step I take. So this is for you Grandad, you have no idea how much I love and miss you.
Secondly, I want to run this to raise awareness for anyone who has been, or is, a victim of mental and domestic abuse. Anyone, any age, any gender, can be a victim of abuse. Both physical and mental. Its affects can be devastating and lasting. No matter who you are it can truly change your life and head and lead you into such damaging places. Unfortunately this issue is not talked about enough. The media often fails to highlight abuse and violence towards men, transgender, gender neutral, non-binary and more. I want to do this event to stand up for anyone who's been pushed down. Who's ever been a victim of bullying. Of violence. Of gas-lighting. Who ever has been made to feel less than they truly are. You are not. You are beautiful. You are extraordinary. You can achieve everything the world has to offer. Love yourself. Believe in yourself.
Thank you so much for your time. It genuinely means the world to me. Any amount, no matter how small, really does mean so much. Please share this is far as you can. Lets make a difference and take a stand.
