Story

Many of you will know that i have no will power, and my training for this race has suffered by the magnetic draw of the bars around Westminster.

But despite this I intend to run the British 10km Race in London on Sunday 6th July - to raise money for CORD - not aiming for personal bests or gold medal placing, just some hard work rewarded by support for a good cause.

CORD works helping people displaced by conflict to rebuild their lives and communities peacefully and sustainably. CORD is one of the very few British Charities that has been working in Chad since 2004. There it has helped to school children and provide vocational training programmes so that people can imporve thier lives in this harsh environment.

By donating through this site you also add gift aid to your donation, forcing the Government to do the right thing and support the needs of the most defenceless and poorest people.

Please give as much or as little as you can and pray for those working for the relief of all people affected by war around the world.

Thank you - E

Cord is an international charity that works with people in highly sensitive and oppressive contexts to transform dysfunctional relationships into those that create peaceful & inclusive societies. Our vision, mission and values are inspired by the Christian faith. Our Vision is of a world where all people live in the fullness of peace; having the freedom to flourish and live free from fear. Our Mission is to transform dysfunctional relationships between individuals and communities and those holding power into positive and thriving relationships built on mutual dependency and trust. Cord works in partnership with local community based organisations to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise with a view to enabling them to more effectively advocate on behalf of communities with government, private companies, and others with power and leverage to impact the quality of life of disadvantaged communities.
