Story
Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
As many of you know I was diagnosed with the rare blood disorder Aplastic Anaemia, a condition which prevents the bone marrow from reproducing blood cells, in 2009 (aged 11) and after 4 years of stress and worry, I received the all clear this February. To celebrate this amazing achievement I've decided that I'm going to run the British 10K London Run with my best friend Anna by my side for a charity very close to my heart - Teens Unite Fighting Cancer.
Teens Unite were there to give me strength when I needed it most. The charity supports teenagers through treatment and beyond by inviting them to take part in fun and motivational days out including concerts, football matches, art and pamper days, helping young people with cancer and other life limiting conditons build on their self esteem, self confidence and to reduce the feeling of isolation, realising that others are facing similar challenges. Teens Unite have also recently opened the first specialist respite care centre for young people aged 13-24 in the UK.
Please donate as much as you can to support this brilliant cause - every penny you can spare will make lots of poorly teenagers very happy!
£5 will fund a set of mugs for the Teens Unite respite home so that the teens can get to know each other over a cup of tea
£10 will buy much needed DVDs for the chill out lounge at the respite home
£20 will pay for transport for a teen to attend a motivational day out
£50 will cover the cost of a motivational art workshop for two teens
£100 will pay for ten teens to have lunch together on a day out
and finally our target of £1500 will pay for a respite weekend for eight teens including food, travel and activities.
Thank you so much for all of your support, Elliot and Anna x
