Story
I am a 13 year old boy from Newmarket and i have always felt very strongly that there is no place for Racism in our society. Sadly, at school I hear kids using racist language and being racially inappropriate towards each other, this has always upset me and made me angry, it is not ok.
What triggered me wanting to make a difference to others was the behaviour of some people after the Euros final towards Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka. They had all just played their hearts out representing England and to be treated in that way was awful, it is not ok.
I chose this charity because I think it is important that the next generation are educated in how to be more accepting of everyone, that they are kind to each other, that they show others compassion and most of all stops people from being Racist.
By the time I have finished running, I will have run 42 miles. Its is going to be very tough but it will be worth it because if the money I raise can change one persons mindset then that would be absolute gold!
Show Racism The Red Card is an anti-racism educational charity. We aim to combat racism through enabling role models, who are predominately but not exclusively footballers, to present an anti-racist message to young people and others. Show Racism The Red Card acknowledges that racism changes, as do the experiences of Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities in the UK. Our message and activities therefore need to be able to respond to such changes as and when appropriate.
