Story
Sadly, on the 15th July we lost Thomas to a very rare disease. He was such a special person, who always put other people before himself. Throughout his life, Thomas always had such a positive attitude and always had a big smile on his face.
Thomas spent the last 4 weeks of his life at St Benedict’s hospice, constantly telling us that he felt like a king. The team couldn’t have done more for him, and we are so thankful to them for keeping the smile on Thomas’ face throughout the difficult times.
Every single member of the team is a very special person and the care they give to not only residents, but their families is second to none. In the words of Thomas, they are all angels.
I’m running the Great North Run to try to raise both money and awareness for the incredible team at St Benedict’s hospice. The hospice is only partly funded by the NHS, and they are reliant on private fundraising to allow them to carry out their work.
The team at St Benedict’s allowed us to spend precious quality time with Thomas. It is so important that they can continue their amazing work for future families going through such difficult times of their lives, and allow them to spend such quality time with their loved ones.
I know times are tough, but any money you can spare for the hospice will be so greatly appreciated and will do so much for St Benedict’s hospice.
I haven’t run a half marathon before, but I’m sure Thomas will help me through it until the end! Thank you so much for any donations, they are so greatly appreciated.
