Chase the Sun 2019

Team: Remembering Luke Fallon
On the longest day of the year (22nd of June), a group of my (arguably mad) colleagues and I will be attempting to cycle 205 miles from coast to coast in one day. The event is called Chase the Sun and the aim is to chase the sun across the country from sunrise (4:41am) to sunset (21:39pm). I’m raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Luke Fallon and my Grandma. Both fought courageous battles with brain tumours and this is a fantastic charity who fund groundbreaking research and care for sufferers of this awful illness which took these wonderful people too soon.
Breaking my elbow 2 months ago meant that training was on pause for 6 weeks but i am now back on my bike and getting the miles in! Whether I beat the sun I’m not sure but my goal is to finish. This will without doubt be the hardest challenge I have ever done. It’ll be about 16 hours of cycling in one day (and that’s not including breaks!)
The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. They fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life. They are committed to having the biggest possible impact for every person affected by a brain tumour, and to defending the most amazing part of the human body.
