Story
Hi everyone,
I have put this off for a while as it’s not something we love talking about however it’s something I feel passionate about so would love to raise some money for the Brain Tumour Charity
Most of my family and friends will know, but my mum has had a brain tumour for 7 years. 2 craniotomies later (surgery on her brain whilst she is awake) they have managed to remove 70% of the tumour, but the 30% remains lodged between the frontal lobe effecting her speech and memory. Meaning she still has ongoing radio and chemotherapy.
Without going into all the details, the experience prior to May this year has been terrible and her most recent surgeon came in and pretty much saved her life. Without him she would not have had a second surgery and who knows what could have happened. We need more specialists like this to ensure people aren’t just left with a growing brain tumour that can erupt at any time!!!
Brain tumours are a form of cancer, but less than 3% of the UK’s cancer research spend each year is used into the research of brain tumours specifically.
I will be running the royal parks half marathon on 9th of October to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity, so any donations/support is massively appreciated, and if anyone would like to join me in getting drunk after please feel free I’m going to need it lol ❤️
