Story

I'm running the Sheffield Half Marathon in memory of my second cousin, Lisa Lynch, who passed away at the age of 33 on March 11th 2013.

A journalist and magazine editor, Lisa was editing her second interiors title at the age of 28 when she discovered a lump in her breast - a lump that spawned not just cancer, but a blog (www.alrighttit.com), a book (The C Word - described by Stephen Fry as "funny and brilliant") and a successful writing career.

Lisa received exceptional nursing care at Trinity Hospice and described it as potentially rivalling Disneyland for the 'happiest place on earth' title.

All of this care that Lisa, along with many others, recieved is provided by Trinity Hospice free of charge, yet only one third of its funding comes from the government. Without the £6 million raised in charity every year, it simply wouldn't exist.

So please, spare a couple of quid for a great cause and in memory of such an incredible woman.

Thanks ever so much

Ellie x
