Story
Hi guys, thanks for the visit :)
Another year, another challenge! This time I'm taking on TWO big running events within the space of a month: first the Marathon du Medoc in September then the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in October!
26.2 miles in France + 13.1 miles in London = worthy of sponsorship!
Those of you who know anything about Medoc will realise this is not an entirely serious athletic endeavour, though it is still 26 miles and will almost certainly be extremely painful (especially afterwards!) And for those running purists among you you'll be pleased to hear I'm aiming to shave 10 minutes off my previous half marathon time in the Royal Parks run (if I can still move), hoping to come in under 2 hours this time, which is no mean feat! So please support the hard work and training preparation that has gone into these events by donating as generously as you can to my chosen charity, the World Wildlife Fund.
My recent travels to China and India in particular have highlighted to me all the more clearly how important sustainable living is for humanity. The most incredible moments I experienced were often those where I was overwhelmed by the beauty and magic of my natural surroundings, from elephants and penguins to fish and fireflies. Joy, passion and enthusiasm don't event begin to cover it. But once these species are gone, they're gone forever.
As Sir David Attenborough puts it (rather better):
I have always supported the invaluable work of the WWF in building a sustainable future where humans can protect and enjoy, rather than destroy, their environment. Please now join me by giving what you can - anything at all will be massively appreciated :)
Love you all and thank you!!
