Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My granddad shortly passed away after battling Dementia for the best part of 2 years, it had been a rough journey since then for him and my family. Witnessing his mind and body deteriorate so quickly, and seeing his eyes look right through me as if he had no idea who I am or why I was there is painful. 1/4 of hospital beds are occupied by people living with dementia and globally, the numbers of people living with dementia will increase from 46.8m in 2015 to 131.5m in 2050, a 281% increase.

This is one of the reasons why I am taking part in Tough Mudder in September. It's a 10-12 mile mud and obstacle course testing physical strength, stamina and mental grit. If I can manage to raise and donate anything to this charity to help them find a cure and help those affected already I will be chuffed.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks,
Ellie
