Story
This summer I will be volunteering in Northern Thailand for the month of July to build a clean water system for the Karen Hilltribe. The Hilltribe live in Mae Hong Son, Thailand's poorest province, with 64% of the region living below the Global Poverty line.
Around 40% of the area are without a supply of clean drinking water. KHT works with the Karen people to build not only clean water systems but a series of sustainable projects improving education, health and food security.
Clean drinking water and sanitation is a basic human right; something we take for granted. The tribe currently collect water from local rivers, which have become increasingly polluted, putting them at risk to many water-borne diseases. By providing the community with clean water it will improve their lives drastically, both in their day-to-day lives and in their health and well-being.
Please help me raise £800 for this incredible charity as every pound will help make a difference to their lives.
