Story
We made the ridiculous decision to run the GNR (again) to raise money for Action Duchenne. Action Duchenne is a cause close to our hearts because my brother, James, was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
We’re a tough family but this condition has had a huge impact on our lives, and the lives of many other families across the country. We want to raise money for Action Duchenne because they are pushing towards a vision of a world where lives are no longer limited by DMD, and the limitations they are trying to tackle are things we have come up against for the whole of James’ life.
My brother is an absolute star, and when I was younger I used to say that if I could I’d give him my legs! Sadly I do need them, so I’ve decided to do something useful with them which will hopefully contribute to Action Duchennes great work. I did the GNR a few years ago and it wasn’t the best time of my life, so this is going to be a bit of a saga but hopefully all worth it in the end!
We’re all planning on training and doing some longer runs together when we all see each other, so I’ll try to keep you updated on our progress once we’ve got cracking.
Wish us luck, and thanks so much for any donation you can make!
