Story
Having never been a particularly sporty person I'm sure it will surprise many of you than I am doing a 10K run! Well, there's a very good reason for this and I'd like to share that with you in the hope that you will understand what a great cause this is.
Sadly a month ago I lost one of my grandma's to a long term illness. Without going into all the details, I can tell you that my grandma bravely fought aginast her battle to the bitter end, and was always supported by her friends, family, carers and St Catherine's Hospice. It is for this reason and charity that I am running the british 10K.
St Catherine's Hospice is an incredible charity who provide specialised care and support for those that are terminaly ill. Not only did they support my grandma, but they gave her something to look forward to every wednesday when she visited for lunch and the afternoon. They also provided her with a welcome relief from the day-to-day struggles that she faced in her life. But that's not it, their support doesn't stop there, they also help the families effected by terminal illnesses of loved ones both whilst they are alive, and after they have passed away.
I'm sure that you will all agree that this is an invaluable support to both the patients and their families and as a result, I would like to be able to give something back to them to say thank you for what they did for my grandma. I also want them to be able to continue the fabulous job that they do and help terminally ill patients and families like us in the future.....so I'm asking for your help. Please sponsor me for the 10K so that we can give something back.
If you woud like to come and see my on the run too, and show some support that would be amazing! Hopefully see some of you on the 14th July....
