Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm Outrunning September for Macmillan and in memory of my amazing dad.
Instead of running a particular distance on one day, I am going to run as far as I can during the month. As most of you know, I'm not the best runner, so this is going to be a massive challenge for me. However, it will be nothing compared to the challenges my dad faced during his battle with cancer.
At 18, it was difficult to comprehend losing someone who was so close to me. Dad took me on adventures, climbing mountains and camping. He shared his love of skiing and sailing with me and he inspired me to see things from different perspectives and to take photographs of the moment. He showed me that sometimes life is challenging, but he motivated me so that I kept trying and never gave up. Dad was the bravest, most dignified man I have ever known, who was loved by everyone he met. An incredible dad but also husband, son, brother and friend who taught us all how to live with hope and to keep smiling, even when life gets tricky.
I am running for Macmillan because they provide support, information and care for individuals who are affected by cancer. This support is able to help not just the patient but also their friends and family who may be facing the same tragic circumstances that my family did. I hope by raising money for Macmillan, continued support will be provided because no one should have to face cancer's heartbreaking devastation alone.
Thanks for all of your support x x x
