Ellie-mae was 9 mths old when diagnosed with stage 4 hepatoblastoma, a very rare form of liver cancer. This also spread to both her lungs. She had months of chemotherapy which meant we stayed in hospital for 9 months. The chemo left her open to infections. The chemotherapy didn't get rid of all her cancer so she went on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Her call came just days after her first birthday, nearly 6 years ago now. We will be forever ggrateful for her donor and his family. And our thoughts are with them, especially when ellie-mae competes at the British transplant games.
Ellie-mae hopes to take part again in 2016 at Liverpool and will hopefully compete in the ball throw, long jump, 50 m run but not the obstacle course as she does not like that.
We are trying to raise £350 which enables ELLIE-MAE to take part in this special sporting event where she us able to meet and compete in a friendly atmosphere, trying to win medals for her group...Leeds children's transplant team. It is also celebration of life and is a good opportunity to show how much organ donation means to everyone. And how much it is needed and to highlight the awareness of it.
Every penny helps and will go to leeds children transplant team 5M97 which is where ellie-mae had her transplant
Thank you
