Story
Thanks for coming over to my page.
8 weeks ago I went through an ectopic pregnancy, and I am now in a place where I can begin to help out a charity that helped us so much.
Over the next month I will be running 180miles to stand for the 1 in 80 women who experience an ectopic pregnancy. The aim is to make more people aware of Ectopic pregnancies and to help raise money for a charity that has been fundamental to our recovery.
Within a few hours of my 6 week scan at the Early Pregnancy Unit I was in surgery to have a partially ruptured fallopian tube removed, I was bleeding into my stomach and in a huge amount of pain. It was a terrifying experience that left us with so many concerns, questions, and feelings of confusion and guilt, and in a time of Covid with visits to the GP curtailed the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust became a little lifeline.
I had been advised to turn to the Ectopic Pregnancy trust in the aftermath for guidance and support and I can't thank them enough for their help, even if it's just to connect with other women in a similar situation and feel reassured that what you are going through is normal. This is a charity that helps so many women and men, far more than people (and I) would realise. 1 in 80 pregnancies are ectopic and if not diagnosed it can be life threatening.
It's so important to know the signs and symptoms and to not be scared to get checked out if in doubt.
