Story
On Sunday 12th September 2021, I will be running in the Great North Run for Saint Michael’s Hospice. I will be running the race in memory of my Stepdad (Euan) and Grandma (Jean), who were cared for by the Hospice in 2019 & 2020 and I’m sure Euan in particular, would be amazed I am attempting this iconic half marathon.
For more than three decades Saint Michael’s has supported thousands of people and their families living with terminal illness and bereavement, delivering the end of life care and bereavement support they need. Since the pandemic began, Saint Michael’s have supported 120% more people affected by terminal illness and bereavement, highlighting how demand for their services has never been higher. Saint Michael’s Hospice offered tremendous support, care and compassion to myself and my family during an extremely difficult time and for that I will be forever grateful.
After the 2020 event was cancelled, I am even more excited to be a part of Team Purple and hopefully raise as much money as possible for a great cause. A huge thank you for visiting my JustGiving page and any support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!
