During lock down I decided to challenge myself with ‘Couch to 5 k’ to keep myself fit after the closure of gyms. Soon after completing this I wanted to push myself further and registered for a marathon, a very spontaneous decision! Running the London Marathon isn’t only a fitness goal, but a chance for me to make a positive change. Raising money for a great cause is a huge motivation to keep pushing myself.
On the 3rd October 2021 I am running 26.2 miles to raise money for CLIC (Cancer and Leukemia in Childhood) Sargent. CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. Its care teams provide specialist support across the UK.
Cancer shatters young cancer patients’ education, social lives and future prospects. They need support not just to survive cancer but to finish treatment with their future in their grasp. CLIC Sargent helps them get their lives back on track, from the moment of diagnosis.
My goal is to support young patients and their families, and inspire others to help too by donating to this fundraiser. For every £37 I raise, it pays for a family to stay one night in a 'Home from Home' helping a family stay together during their child's treatment.
Your donation can mean a family won’t have to face cancer alone.
