Story
Hi - I'm Ellie - I'm 11 years old and I want to say a big thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I wanted to do a big event to raise money for the Scunthorpe and District Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society which has been helping my Auntie Fi since she was diagnosed with MS. They give support and advice and helped my Auntie get a mobility scooter as she now needs this to get around. The MS Society also do research which I hope will help Auntie Fi and others like her.
On August 19th I will be setting off with my Dad to ride from one side of the country to the other, along the 170 miles of the Way of the Roses cycle route. The route sets off from Morecambe Bay and will pass through Settle, Pateley Bridge, Ripon and York finishing in Bridlington on 21st August, 3 days later. We will be riding about 60 miles each day with lots of hills on Day 1. This is going to be the longest ride I have ever done and I am in training at the moment - my longest ride so far is 60km. There will be lots of stops for coffee & cakes (for Dad) along the way and we are stopping overnight in Appletreewick and Stamford Bridge.
