Story
On 30 January 2020 we lost our much-loved niece, cousin and member of the 'Allsey-Thomas Ladies', Lucinda Allseybrook. Aged just 28, Lucinda had an emergency operation on New Years’ Eve 2019 and following that was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer. It had spread throughout her body, including to her spine and brain, which meant it was too late for anything to be done to help her.
In a devastating situation like this there is a need for physical, financial and emotional support and it’s when the work that Macmillan do is invaluable. The Macmillan Mighty Hike is a 26 mile hike through the Peak District, taking up to 12.5 hours to complete. Each participant must raise a minimum of £250, which goes towards providing cancer support to an estimated 1.6m people every year.
Lucinda was beautiful, compassionate, intelligent and fun. She was a talented fashion designer and through her love for essential oils and everything natural, was dedicated to supporting others wellbeing. I am doing this Mighty Hike in her memory and to raise money for a charity whose work will unfortunately touch all of us at one point or another.
Thank you for your support.
