Story
My story
Where do I begin? Everyone knows about cancer by you never think it’s going to affect you. October 2022 my life turned upside down when my best friend, my momma was diagnosed with a super rare cancer. Treatment after treatment and a lot of pain later, momma had surgery to remove the tumour from her leg in March 2023. As a family we waited to hear if she was cancer free. Her surgeon gave her the news she was cancer free. I couldn’t believe the out come and the recovery, she started walking again and getting out the house again. A day I’ll never forget is taking her out so I could shop and we could do our special thing, getting a bubble tea together. Momma told me then, if anything happened to her while I went to work in California that I wasn’t allowed to come home. May 2023 she came to the train station to see me off on my adventures. Little did I know, our lives were about to come crashing down.
June 2023, I told my friends in the office that something wasn’t right and I could sense something wrong. I was right, my life changed forever. Matt, my brother answered the FaceTime, I knew at this moment something was wrong. He put the camera on momma and I just knew. My best friend told me that the cancer had spread to her lungs and she had been in hospital for the last 5 days. She knew she was going to start chemo in the next week. I wanted to come home and be with her but I promised her I wouldn’t and stayed at camp.
I believe I have the strongest momma in the whole world. What she has been through in the last year is something unbelievable.
This type of cancer is rare. 500 people diagnosed a year. However, the support we have received as a family from the charity is out of this world. Momma receives support from the charity but also myself and Matt have had chats for support too. The support groups that momma has joined has made things a little easier so she can talk to others fighting this cancer too. She had also made a beautiful friend, Stacey who was also diagnosed, who I also will be running for.
My reasons why I’m running
I was to spread the awareness of this nasty cancer
Cancer comes out of nowhere and you should be checking your body for any changes
Show Momma Claire had raised an unstoppable daughter
I understand that asking for money is a big ask but if you even donate £1 that will goes miles for a small charity. Momma Claire is a legend and helped 100s of people over the years. If that’s booking you on a holiday, parties, picking us up from somewhere or buying you sweets for college, she’s has an impact on your life. She’s helped so many, it’s time to help her and be strong for her.
Many of you know that Momma Claire is very talented with her crocheting. She spends hours making them and puts so much love into them. She does it because she enjoys it but also she donates so many blankets to kitten shelters and has also made hundreds for babies who need warm clothes or they have been adopted. She does so much for charities and help those in need. She doesn’t promote this, it comes from the kindness of her heart. If she can do all this without asking for a penny, I know your pennies will help her make it through the next stages of her life.
With all my love, please help support me through this journey. Even if it’s a good luck message, £1 or you want to come cheer me on in London (21st April 2024, please message so I know you are coming) it would mean the world to me. Also, if anyone would like to train with me, please message.
I’m setting a goal of £5,000 to achieve. I do feel like this is a massive amount of money but it is all possible if we share the news and work together.
Thank you for reading ✨
I’ve cried many times reading and writing this. Thank for your time. I’m trying to make a difference and heal a small part of the broken heart I’ll always have.

Thank you for visiting my page. I've chosen to run the 2024 London Marathon for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care. Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community:£1 Could cover the cost of 10 texts to the support line.£10Could be used to buy microscope slides to look at cells in minute detail. £30Could fund one hour of use of a high-powered laboratory microscope. £150 Could fund the support line for a week.Thank you for your support.
