Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2017 was, in a word, terrible. Two days before my Dad passed away, my fabulous Mum was diagnosed with cancer.
Safe to say I didn't cope particularly well, and in April, after a particularly hard couple of weeks following his birthday, I cracked and agreed to try some professional help.
I started to see a counsellor, was diagnosed with depression and took some time away from everything to get better. This help, coupled with regular exercise slowly changed my mindset and things started to look brighter. Running is a brilliant head clearer, and I decided to put my training to some good (and encourage me to keep going through cold dark evenings!) by signing up for a half marathon.
Having already achieved a 10km back in 2015 I felt I should take on an even bigger challenge, both in memory of Dad and in thanks to The Christie for everything they did for not only my Mum recently, but also my Grandma many years ago. Any donation of any size will help towards them being able to continue their fantastic work and research and is very gratefully received!
I promise to keep you all updated with training trails and tribulations over the next 6 months!
Fingers crossed for 2hrs30!
