Story
I am running the London Marathon 2019 in memory of my Grandad, Raymond McLean & My Nan-Nan, Winny. Both who suffered from the horrible and heartbreaking disease Alzheimers/Dementia. This has a huge effect on family & friends who have to watch the person they love so dearly forget who they are.
I am also running for my Mum, Lisa Rothery who had a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2017 (bleed to the brain). My mum was rushed to hospital and had to have brain surgery to put coiling into the aneurysm to prevent it growing or rupturing again. However my mum has a further 2 aneurysms which will now be monitored yearly. This was the scariest moment of my life as I almost lost my Mum and i cannot imagine my life without her... She is my rock & bestest friend!
A brain aneurysm is a bulge/ballooning in a blood vessel inside the brain and can leak or rupture if not found in time. This is life threatening & awareness needs to be raised.
Brain Research UK fund the best neurolgical research to discover the causes, find new treatments and improve lives of those affected.
Please donate to help support my run and help people around the world suffering with a neurological condition!
Thank you for reading my story xx
